This piece was created as a dramatic sci-fi battlefield scene set against a lush Pacific Northwest-inspired hillside, with dense pine trees, rolling terrain, misty atmosphere, and natural greenery framing the devastation above. In the foreground, Spartan and ODST onlookers stand powerless as they watch a Covenant ship dominate the sky, destroying the outmatched UNSC frigates hanging overhead. I designed the scene to contrast the quiet beauty of the landscape with the overwhelming scale of the battle above, using composition, lighting, atmosphere, and ship placement to create a sense of helplessness, awe, and cinematic tragedy.
