This 3D piece was created as an epic sci-fi fleet battle inspired by the scale and atmosphere of Halo, set high above a vast tropical environment. I developed the scene for the client with the end goal of this appearing on a calendar and so the composition, environmental layout, ship placement, lighting, and overall cinematic directionhad to create an all out movie poster feel. Explosions, atmospheric rays, and dramatic action elements were used throughout the scene to heighten the intensity, while the final color grading helped unify the tropical landscape, aerial combat, and large-scale sci-fi spectacle into one polished image.
